If you are looking at an ASKAR 130PHQ or the ZWO 130FF then don’t 2nd guess it and buy it, its an outstanding Flat field refractor !

Now back to the Celestron ! – Anyone that is interested in astronomy had probably owned something by Celestron ! So the scope arrived as you can see from my previous post. It came double boxed, and that was it. I was a little surprised, even when the Meade LX5 came in the 1980 it too was in a flight case, just like the refactor. So this was a little disappointing.

Because this is the EDGE HD, they have a nice lump of glass as photographed

So unlike the 130mm FF where back focus was not an issue, i now have to deal with back focus, but 146.05mm is quite a lot, add to this the M42 , because i have a OAG, filter wheel, rotator and camera, this means that the standard converter is too long and i would exceed the 146.05mm ! So now need to measure everything and make a converter which is going to suit this…. Stay tuned …..

OK so, as you can see from some of my pictures my primary scope is my ZWO 130mm FF, this scope is amazing, and while its a rebrand of the Askar 130PHQ, ZWO’s support, packaging, communication was amazing.
