\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIt has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its outer disk, which from Earth is viewed almost edge-on. The dark dust lane and the bulge give it the appearance of a sombrero hat (thus the name). Astronomers initially thought the halo was small and light, indicative of a spiral galaxy; but the Spitzer Space Telescope found that the halo was significantly larger and more massive than previously thought, indicative of a giant elliptical galaxy.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNGC5128 - is a galaxy in the constellation of Centaurus. It was discovered in 1826 by Scottish astronomer James Dunlop from his home in Parramatta, in New South Wales, Australia. The galaxy is the fifth-brightest in the sky,making it an ideal amateur astronomy target. A small, distorted companion galaxy is located nearby, which is similar to our galaxy\u2019s Large Magellanic Cloud. It is the brightest of the five main spirals in the direction of the Sculptor Group. It is inclined at an angle of 42\u00b0 when viewed from Earth and shares many characteristics of the Triangulum Galaxy.
